FIT Family Series Champions and ALL OHIO athletes recognized

Fit Family Series_REVwhiteoutlineNew for 2016 was a sophisticated algorithm that was developed by TriRegistration.com to better determine the true champions from HFP’s FIT Family Series.  New for 2016, the HFP Ohio Rankings which ranked athletes participating in all HFP events regardless of distance. Top performers in this season long ranking have earned ALL OHIO status.

The series points system gives the average time for each event 100 points (110 for Sprint, 120 for Olympic, and 130 for Half). Your points will be the average time (in seconds) multiplied by 100, then divided by your time (in seconds). If you are faster than the average time, then you will have more than 100 points.

This allows us to get a consistent points system that isn’t affected by the number of participants in a particular event or by the time of the overall winner, which can vary greatly depending on who shows up. Your total points is the sum of your 3 highest point totals, so you must complete 3 races to qualify.

Awards

The top three (first, second, third places) in all divisions and all races* will receive custom FIT Family Series award. The first place winners (“Champions”) of each division in each race will also receive a FIT Family Series Champion race singlet.

*Kidz Triathlon & Duathlon, Women’s Only Triathlon, Mini, Sprint & Olympic distance triathlon & duathlon races.

All series champions please send your tri top size and your shipping address before October 25 to customerservice@hfpracing.com. Series champion tri tops will be mailed out in January. Anyone that placed in the top 3 will receive a “champion”, “runnerup” or “third place” medal in the mail in the next 30-45 days.

FINAL FIT FAMILY SERIES POINTS STANDINGS

ALL OHIO recognition will be given to the top 10% in each division in the HFP Racing Triathlon and Duathlon final rankings. ALL OHIO athletes will be given an official 2016 ALL OHIO certificate and t-shirt recognizing their outstanding achievement.

Deer Creek Fall Challenge – New Courses for 2017

logo_dcfcHFP Racing is setting the 2017 date for the Deer Creek Fall Challenge for Sunday, September 24 and is excited to announce a more logistically friendly bike course changes for this annual late season event. “The Deer Creek Fall Challenge has continued to grow and is attracting participants of all ability levels, especially in the shorter distance races. We’ve recognized that we no longer can offer the same course layouts as it has become increasingly more difficult to handle the large field size of 750 participants in and out of the park.” Shannon Kurek, Race Director

The new bike courses are a single lap for the Mini, Sprint and Olympic distance races. The Half Iron will now only be two laps with no return trip into the park until the completion of the 56 mile course. Two aid stations will be available at mile 19 and mile 27 featuring Gatorade Endurance Formula, Water, BOOM Energy Gel and miscellaneous snacks.

The new course layout will allow participants racing in the shorter races to leave the park when finished without driving on the bike course.
