HFP Racing 2021 Schedule FAQs

By now most of you have been reading the updates or have been discussing the HFP Racing 2021 schedule with your multisport teammates. We have been getting some questions in our Customer Service email that I thought might be better addressed to everyone since many of you may have the same questions.

Why did HFP Racing move most of our races to Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) parks? The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) revoked our permit to the American Triple-T in late November 2020 and informed us that NO permits would even be considered for any races on the in 2021 until June 1. With the 2020 season a complete bust from COVID there was absolutely no way we could risk another season without races and we certainly could not open 2021 registration knowing we did not have permits for our 2021 events. Additionally, ODNR is no longer allowing any events to take place at Alum Creek State Park for the foreseeable future due to urban sprawl making the roads too dangerous for races.

How does the venue for the American Triple-T compare to the 2020 venue? In all areas, Atwood Lake Park is superior to Salt Fork Lake Park. Though there is not as much on-site lodging, the lodging options are plentiful AND if you enjoy camping there is on-site camping (with campers to rent) at their spectacular campground which is walking distance the transition area. The off-site lodging is an easy 25-minute drive (with only a few turns) from New Philadelphia and there are rental cabins just 8 miles away at the Woods Tall Timber Resort. The roads are super smooth and lightly traveled, along with offering many more course options (for the bike & run). Lastly, regardless of where you are lodging, the race parking lot (in a huge lot) is just 50 yards from the transition area which makes it super convenient for everyone. Flying in from out of state? Atwood Lake Park is just 45 minutes from the Akron-Canton Airport.

Does HFP Racing plan to return to the ODNR parks in the future if permitted? That is a question we just cannot answer right now as we are focusing on the new and exciting MWCD venues we have lined up for the 2021 season. We are receiving unbelievable support from MWCD and they are looking forward to rolling out the red carpet for you this season. Yes, for our Cincinnati/Dayton area friends this has increased your travel time to get to the races. However, I would encourage you to make the trips to these awesome family friendly venues and find out why we are so excited about the 2021 season…it will be worth the extra effort to get there. MWCD has recently invested over 200 million dollars into their parks that was made possible with a partnership with clean energy provider ECINO ENERGY and it is very apparent that it is for the benefit of their valued park visitors.

Why is there a $10.00 per day fee added to my race entry at these new venues? This is the gate fee that is charged by MWCD to get into the park and 100% goes to the MWCD overhead to keep these awesome parked equipped with great staff and to keep everything well maintained year-round. If there is not a replacement venue (i.e. OU Race for a Reason, FIT Family Series @ Maumee Bay) can I transfer to another event on the 2021 calendar? Yes, absolutely.

What are the races that make up the 2021 FIT Family Series?
FIT Family Series @ Seneca Lake Park | Senecaville, Ohio  June 5-6, 2021
SAT: Kidz Splash N Dash SUN: Mini, Sprint & Olympic Triathlons & Duathlons

If I signed up for a 2020 HFP Racing event will I automatically be registered for the 2021 race that replaced the 2020 race? No, we sent out an email last year (with 3 options) that indicated you must contact customerservice@hfpracing.com and let us know what you would like to do. We will then credit your TriRegistration.com account and you can use this credit for any HFP Racing event. April 15th, 2021 is the final day that any 2020 race transfers can be made to 2021, 2022 or 2023. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Why did you change the kids triathlon & duathlon series to a Splash N Dash Series? At HFP Racing we are all about safe events and that is taken up a few notches with our kids races. We felt that to provide our kids with the most fun and safe event we needed to eliminate the bike portion of the event. Additionally, we wanted to offer the kids series as an afternoon event to allow families more time to travel and eliminate the need for another night in a hotel. We are excited to showcase this new series to our current customers and hope to encourage kids visiting the parks to give the Splash N Dash a go.

In closing; it’s been a very tough 10 months since COVID 19 shut down the entire racing industry and it is my sincere hope that you will join us at these new venues as we celebrate the return to racing in Ohio. We can’t wait to see you at an HFP Racing event in 2021.

2021 HFP Tri Club Partnership Program

2021 HFP Triathlon Club Partnership

Dear Triathlon Club, We would like to share with your club a great opportunity to get a discount on HFP Racing races in 2021. A partnership with your triathlon club and HFP Racing is a win-win for the upcoming season of racing:

If your club is interested, we will offer your members 15% off HFP Racing events in 2021. This offer can help create more camaraderie between members! You could even make an HFP Racing race a club race.

Your club logo will be on our website for the 2021 year. We strongly encourage your club to have a tent near the finish line at races for your members to have a place to chill + support other people crossing the finish line. This helps get your club more exposure.

What we ask of you is that you tag us in your social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) of your members training & racing. This gives HFP Racing exposure.

If your club is interested, please confirm the following information by Friday, April 30, 2021:
-Main contact of the club (email & phone)
-How many members are in your club
-Club social media handles
-Club logo

Once we receive the above information, we will send you the code for your members to use to save 15% on races.

Should you have any specific questions about the race discount, you can email us at: m.prohaska@hfpracing.com

We will respond within 48 hours – dependent on races.

I look forward to hearing from your club!
