Need Some Winter Motivation???

chuck-norris2If you were thinking about joining us in Helen, GA for our annual training camp…The Helen Training Camp on April 2-9 has just 6 spots left. This annual camp in the northern mountain region of Helen, Georgia limits participation to just 30 lucky participants. Campers have come from 6 states and with a ambitious week of training planned all should leave thoroughly tested. This camp is a great excuse to get a solid week of uninterrupted training in before the start of the season. Every year campers rave about the gorgeous terrain that presents itself in Northern Georgia each April.
Check out the details here.

ALL-OHIO Athletes Announced

all-ohio-20162016 ALL OHIO recognition has been given to the top 10% in each division in the HFP Racing Triathlon and Duathlon final rankings. ALL OHIO athletes will be given an official 2016 ALL OHIO t-shirt recognizing their outstanding achievement. T-shirts will be mailed out to qualified athletes in February.

A sophisticated algorithm that was developed by TriRegistration.com was used to determine the ALL-OHIO Rankings which ranked athletes participating in all HFP events regardless of distance.

The points system gave the average time for each event 100 points (110 for Sprint, 120 for Olympic, and 130 for Half). Your points were the average time (in seconds) multiplied by 100, then divided by your time (in seconds). If you are faster than the average time, then you will have more than 100 points.

This allowed us to get a consistent points system that isn’t affected by the number of participants in a particular event or by the time of the overall winner, which can vary greatly depending on who shows up. Your total points is the sum of your 3 highest point totals, so you must complete 3 races to qualify.

Athletes from all 50 states, and 4 continents have all sought the privilege of earning their American Triple-T finisher T-shirt. Competitors, volunteers and spectators all come away with a new appreciation of the sport and of the athletes who train and tame mind and body to complete this legendary event.

You’ll also come away with newfound friendships, and you’ll solidify those bonds every year you come together to face this demon. There are even a special few who turned their initial shared experiences at the American Triple-T into a union of souls, and they came back the next year to compete as husband and wife! While we cannot guarantee that you’ll find your soul mate at the “T”, we will guarantee an incredible, unforgettable experience unique in the triathlon world.

Deer Creek Fall Challenge – New Courses for 2017

logo_dcfcHFP Racing is setting the 2017 date for the Deer Creek Fall Challenge for Sunday, September 24 and is excited to announce a more logistically friendly bike course changes for this annual late season event. “The Deer Creek Fall Challenge has continued to grow and is attracting participants of all ability levels, especially in the shorter distance races. We’ve recognized that we no longer can offer the same course layouts as it has become increasingly more difficult to handle the large field size of 750 participants in and out of the park.” Shannon Kurek, Race Director

The new bike courses are a single lap for the Mini, Sprint and Olympic distance races. The Half Iron will now only be two laps with no return trip into the park until the completion of the 56 mile course. Two aid stations will be available at mile 19 and mile 27 featuring Gatorade Endurance Formula, Water, BOOM Energy Gel and miscellaneous snacks.

The new course layout will allow participants racing in the shorter races to leave the park when finished without driving on the bike course.
